Quick and easy cards

I haven't posted for awhile but I've been busy getting my grandsons' scrapbooks up-to-date.  I was fortunate enough to go on a scrapbook weekend at my favorite place and was very productive.

Here are some quick cards I made using some pattern cardstock and a wedding invitation.

Another fun project are these layered flowers.  I love the layered look.  Now I just need to get busy and get them on some cards.

I updated my table in my craft room.  This table my son made for his dining room and he decided not to use it so I got it.  I needed to put glass on top because I was getting a lot of bits and pieces down in the crevices.  I raided my office upstairs for the glass tops and I added 1" on each side of the table.

Gotta get to work on some cards now.  Stay safe and get some crafting done.  Susan

Cards and projects

We celebrated Independence Day by relaxing at home.  And by relaxing I mean crafting!  Here are some cards and projects I finished.

      

I'm finally getting around to doing some decorating.  I took the back out of this frame and added the vinyl words on the glass.  I have to work on my transfering because some of the metallic vinyl didn't lay nicely.  I'll probably redo that (one day!).  And I do need to add the name of the person who originally said this.

 Some pretty "love" cards for Cards for Soldiers from goodies a friend gave me.

 I reorganized my dies and stamps and so I made these tabs for the separators.  I printed and then cut them on my Scan N Cut.  It looks so neat and organized!

This is a card I made from the Stamps of Life card kit for my sister who let us come stay at the beach house she rented.  It was a nice week. I wasn't sure I wanted to keep that shell die but I think it is adorable.  This one I used the negative space from the inside. I created that frame (with the thank you in the middle) on my SNC as well.

Decor and more

I was on vacation last week at the beach with family.  It was a relaxing week and I had time to layout some decor for my craft room.

This picture was inspired by a wood sign in my room at the house.  It says, The Beach is calling and I must go.  I put this saying on a picture my niece made for me several years ago to commemorate another family trip.  I have a picture ready to print to put in the middle.

This next project is the easel that I will use for taking pictures of cards for my files and for this blog.  I've added my logo and blog address.

I've got a few more decor projects I'm working on and will share them when they are finished.

My view at the beach

Today I'm enjoying a different kind of creativity.  A storm is coming in over the ocean.  I'm always amazed at God's creation when I'm at the beach!

I miss being able to create at home but I love the ocean.

A different type of creativity

I haven't been crafting this past week because I've been organizing.  I decided to change the way I store my stamps and dies.  I'm combining them into one container by theme. I'm updating my AirTable data at the same time.  My goal is to actually USE what I have and stop buying new things (at least for a while).

I've also found a lot stamps, dies, and other things that I haven't used for a while (and some not ever).  I'm sure there are others who will give them a good workout and I'll recoup a little for those goodies and I can't pass up. I'll be setting up a virtual yard sale and I'll be sure to post the link here.

Quick card tonight

We had some bad weather move in tonight – a little bit of hail, 50+ MPH winds, rain, and a tornado warning. But it passed over pretty quickly.

The background on this card was made by picking up the “extra“ gilding polish from my Altenew chevron stencil. I believe it’s called the “kiss method“. Where I laid this cardstock against the original background (see my last post for the original card).  And yes, I am still working with the Altenew Fabulous Florets. I have a whole stack of these in different colors so I’m sure you’ll be seeing them again (and again).

In the background you see some things that I love having on my table tonight. The colorful box with the red hearts was my Mother’s Day gift from my grandson so it will always have a cherished place in my room. The “blessed” sign is new from Hobby Lobby; it was 50% off. I don’t typically buy decorations like this but it just spoke to me (because I am blessed). The brackets are from IKEA and they are used to connect pegboard to a table top. I don’t have a plan for them yet but since my husband and son were up by the IKEA store I asked them to pick them up for me. They are only $4 for a set of two and they work great if you don’t want to put pegboard on the wall. I’m thinking of putting smaller pegboards on my crafting table for the things I use most often (but honestly I don’t really need to). Or I might use them to connect a bulletin board to my table so I can display some of my favorite cards.
